State
lawmakers in California, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Oregon, all
of them controlled by the Democrat-Socialist party, are at least
looking at making reparations payments to Black folks. So far, the are
not getting much traction.
California
has gotten so far as to set up a commission to study the issue. It
should be noted that slavery never was legal in California.
The
feds have been at leas in theory looking at the issue for at least
twenty years, maybe longer About 75% of Blacks in national polls favor
the idea. Only about 20% of Whites do. Other groups poll even lower..
