An advocacy group in Loudon County, VA. has filed a petition to recall Brenda Sheridan, the head of the board.
A recall petition was also filed against Beth Barts, who resigned before the process could run it's course.
A
further move has been made to remove several other members of the
board, a total of six of the members. One of the members, Leslee King,
died while the recall effort was under way..
Recall
supporters needed 803 signatures, 10% of the number of those who voted
in the election, to get the recall on the ballot. They in fact got
1,859 signatures in less than two weeks.
I
strongly suspect the recall will be successful and the radical notion
of parents having a say in their children's education will reign in
Loudon County, VA.
