NOTABLE PASSING

Dwayne Hickman

by Bob Walsh

Dwayne Hickman, famous for his role in The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, a 1960s sitcom, has shuffled off this mortal coil at the age of 87, due to complications from Alzheimers.

After the show he went on to success in various behind-the-camera endeavors, including production and direction of small-screen work.

He was a funny guy.  I liked him.  I had a thing for Zelda, who turned out to be gay and went on to become a member of the California legislature.

Dobie Gillis was a good show. I miss the classic sit-coms.
