An
off-duty police officer from Oakdale, CA. was visiting someone in the
hospital in Modesto yesterday when he somehow managed to shoot himself
while handling his firearm. It wasn't really clear from the brief news
story why he was handling his firearm. I strongly suspect (based on
zero information) that he was showing off his new gat to whoever he was
visiting and screwed up. The wound was not life threatening and medical
aid was conveniently available. The matter is under investigation.
