Visiting
is a big deal politically in prisons in the formerly great state of
California. The prison system screws with it only very reluctantly.
Right now all contact visiting except for attorney and court-ordered
visits is suspended due to the Covid situation.
It should be noted that more prison staff than inmates (a lot more) have been hospitalized due to Covid.
Also,
as an aside, I saw an add from the system on TV today advertising for
staff. They have recently closed down one prison and are looking to
close down at least one more and they claim they need staff. Something
is odd there. Of course a lot of things are odd there if you get down
to it.
