Various pictures of Ukiah Police Chief Noble Waidelich, now on administrative leave for a criminal investigation
The Superior Court in Mendocino County has ruled that a
lawsuit can go ahead against Noble Waidelich, the Chief of Police of the
teeming metropolis of Ukiah. The suit has been filed by his former
fiancee, Amanda Carley, a former deputy probation officer in Mendocino
County.
The suit was filed
in 2017. It alleges years of domestic abuse directed against Carley by
Waidelich, who was at the time a Ukiah detective. He has been promoted
more than once since the suit was filed.
Carley said she downplayed the abuse until she moved out of the house
they shared. A criminal inquiry was begun when Carley's daughter told
school officials that she had witnessed Waidelich abusing her mother.

When Carley finally got around to reporting the abuse, the county launched an investigation against her for deceit, demoted her and took her issued weapon. Waidlich has NEVER been questioned about the criminal abuse complaint.
The
lawsuit against the county for retaliation against her and against
Waidelich for the abuse. The county is trying to weasel out by
asserting that Carley and her lawyer have not actively pursued the
case. They are also sniveling now that the case is being actively moved
forward that they don't have enough time to prepare. The judge didn't
buy it.
Neither the county nor Waidelich has made a comment for the press on the matter.
