Hamas Executes 2 Palestinians for Helping Israel
The Palestinians signed deals obligating them to combat terror. But any Palestinian who does so is certain to be brutally punished.
Hamas rules Gaza with an iron fist
The Palestinians have several signed peace agreements with Israel, all of which obligate them to cooperate with the Jewish state to combat terrorism and end the so-called “cycle of violence.”
But should any Palestinian Arab dare to actually fulfill that obligation, he or she faces severe punishment, and likely death.
That is especially true in the Gaza Strip, where at the weekend the coastal enclave’s Hamas overlords executed two Palestinians on charges of aiding Israel in its recent military campaign to eliminate the threat of Islamic Jihad rocket attacks.
One man reportedly helped Israeli forces identify the launch pads Islamic Jihad was using to fire its rockets, while the second is accused of aiding Israel in the targeting of terrorist forces hiding among the civilian population.
A decade of incessant Hamas and Islamic Jihad rocket fire on southern Israel has kept Gaza in a perpetual state of low-level war (punctuated by periodic major flare-ups), which has in turn resulted in ongoing destitution.
Many Gazans are fed up. But their only recourse is almost certain to get them arrested, tortured and killed. Even though their actions were in line with the supposed spirit of the peace process.
It should be remembered that Hamas and its violent, peace-rejecting ideology was actually voted into political power by the Palestinian electorate in 2006.
