There were seven ballot
initiatives for the voters of California (some of who are actual
citizens) to decide on this time around.
Proposition
One wrote the right to contraception and abortion into the state
constitution. It passed overwhelmingly, almost 2-1.
Propositions 26 and 27 were dueling sports betting initiatives. Both went down by more than 2-1/
Proposition 28 would give more money to art and music in grades K-12. It passed by more than 6-4.
Proposition
29 was YET ANOTHER attempt (the third one I think) to "regulate" the
kidney dialysis business. This was shot down by more than 2-1.
Proposition
30 was a tax-the-rich shot to fund both electric vehicle infrastructure
and throw some more money at firefighting. Even the governor couldn't
buy into this one. It went down 6-4.
Proposition
31 was to ban the sale of most flavored tobacco products, allegedly to
keep them from being sold to children, who are already legally forbidden
to buy tobacco products. It passed by more than 6-4.
Also,
as expected, all constitutional offices went to Democrat-Socialists.
The closest split was for state controller, which was 54% to 46%.

By the way, I failed to make this even remotely clear. They are still not done counting the votes in CA and won't be for another day or three. I have no reason to believe any of these outcomes will change, but it is possible. I should have said that up front. MY BAD.
