Susan Sarandon joined Squad member Rashida Tlaib in a protest on Capitol Hill, demanding for the US to stop 'funding genocide.'
The
actor made a statement to members of the press on Thursday, calling for
a ceasefire during an 'advocacy day,' organized by the left-wing
anti-war women's organization CODEPINK.
'There's
never been peace that's been attained through violence,' Sarandon said,
ironically just three months after issuing a groveling apology for
saying Jewish Americans 'are getting a taste of what it is like to be Muslim in this country.'
The 77-year-old, who was wrapped in a red
keffiyeh scarf while posing for pictures, said, 'We have to have a
permanent ceasefire and save the lives of all those people that are now
just being shot at like fish in a barrel.'
The
Oscar-winning actor was dropped by her Hollywood company in November
over anti-Semitic remarks. Her demonstration comes after a $95 billion foreign aid package passed by the Senate on Tuesday morning, including $14.1 billion for Israel's war against Hamas.

'Well I wish that I had $1,000,000 plus
which is what Jeffries has received and Torres also to try to have a
conversation,' she added. 'But they clearly don't want to have a
dialogue, they don't want to have a conversation which to me makes it
seem as if they're afraid to know the truth about what's going on.'
'And
I guess their AIPAC donors make that very difficult should they start
to listen to what actually the rest of the world, the rest of the United
States, the bulk of the United States wants a ceasefire.'
'I
just can't bear any longer to see this kind of devastation with so many
victims are children and women. I don't understand how people cant turn
a blind eye to that,' said Sarandon.
Sarandon
has made no effort to call out violence against Israelis on October 7,
nor has she advocated for the release of the hostages - including as
many as six Americans, who are still being held captive by Hamas in
Gaza.
In early November, Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib was censured for a string of incendiary remarks condemning Israel after the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7 that killed 1,400 people.
Twenty-two
Democrats joined Republicans to condemn the progressive Michigan
lawmaker in a stunning rebuke of her controversial statements on the
conflict in the Middle East.
She has
also been criticized by the White House and members of her own party for
using the pro-Palestinian chant 'from the river to the sea', which many
consider to be an anti-Semitic call for the destruction of Israel.

'As a mother
& grandmother, I can't bear watching the ongoing suffering of the
mothers in Gaza, especially knowing that we in the US are paying for the
weapons that are killing them and their families. I say to Congress:
stop supporting this genocide, call for a permanent ceasefire and the
resuming of humanitarian aid through UNRWA,' Saradon told CODEPINK.
It's

In November, Sarandon
was dumped by her Hollywood agency UTA over her controversial remark
that frightened Jews in America facing rising antisemitism are getting a
'taste of how it feels to be Muslim.'
Staffers
at the agency were so hurt and shocked by left-wing Sarandon's comments
that it led to them cutting ties. She had been with the agency since
2014.
The agency, which stands for United Talent Agency, is run by Jewish CEO Jeremy Zimmer.
Sarandon
made the inflammatory remark at a protest in NYC on November 17. She
said people who are 'afraid to be Jewish' in America are 'getting a
taste of what it feels like to be Muslim in America.'

Jews slammed her remarks and some Muslim
Americans, including Asra Nomani, have taken to social media to explain
to Sarandon the ways in which their lives improved when they moved to
America.
Sharing a photo of herself
with her parents, Nomani said: 'Hi there Susan Sarandon, this is my mom,
my dad and me on the rail trail in Morgantown, West by God Virginia.
let me tell you what it means to be Muslim in America.
'My
dad didn't have to become a second-class indentured servant to one of
the many tyrants of Muslim countries that use immigrants from India,
like my family, as essential slaves... my dad got a job as an assistant
professor of nutrition.
'He got
rejected first for tenure but being Muslim in America meant he got a
right like everybody got — his right to appeal and guess what? He won
and he became a full professor.
'My
mom? Being Muslim in America meant she got to live FREE with the wind in
her hair, like Masih Alinejad fights for women in the Muslim nation of
Iran to be able to enjoy.'
She went on
to describe how she was able to give birth safely and freely to a baby
out of wedlock in America - something that would have led to her death
in some Muslim countries.

Peace is usually obtained through war. Ask the Philipino citizens. The Japanese didn't leave on their own. Ask the French or for that matter any other country occupied during WW-II by Germany.
