I live in San Joaquin County,
CA. It is (according to the U. S. Census Bureau) possibly the most
diverse county in the country. It has a population of about 650,000.
About half of that lives in Stockton.
The
County Registrar of Voters has recently announced some program changes
to increase the overall security of the voting process. Some of this is
the down-stream handling of ballots and keeping track of them. Some of
it is otherwise.
One of
the things they are doing is flagging any address that has more than 10
registered voters. These flags are reported to the Sheriff's Office who
checks the situation out. This program fired up after a Lodi city
official was found to have 41 ballots at his house during the last
election and had a couple of dozen people (who may or may not have
existed) registered to vote at his residence address.
