I like John Oliver. I watch his
show. He is a hard-core liberal, but some of his ideas are worth while
and his presentation is always excellent.
A
couple of nights ago on his show he offered Supreme Court Justice
Clarence Thomas $1 million cash and new motor home worth many hundreds
of thousands of dollars if he would resign from the court in the next 30
days. It seems to be a legit offer. It might even be legal.
He
clearly does not like Thomas' point of view. He also clearly believes
he is at least of dubious honesty and may be outright corrupt. The
Supreme Court obeys its own rules about ethics and those rules are
fuzzy.
I doubt Thomas will bite. The lure of power is strong.
