SOME PEOPLE TAKE FISHING TOO SERIOUSLY

A Livermore man is currently a guest of the county at Santa Rita after a late night fishing trip got a little tense.
Gary Gomez, 42, took his wife and 14-year old son on a late night fishing trip on Bethany reservoir Sunday night. Two of the young man’s friends went along. About 2:00 a.m. on of the son’s buddies decided he had to go home, which pissed off daddy. It turned into a fist fight, which turned into a fist vs knife fight, which the 14-year old lost because he didn’t have a knife. Daddy shanked his son 11 times. The wife was also stabbed when she tried to break up the fight. He also punctured a tire on the family van when mom tried to drive away.
Gomez was arrested on charges of attempted murder and child endangerment. The boy will be fine, at least as far as the injuries are concerned. As far as the rest is concerned, that’s questionable.
