MOONBEAM NEVER MET A TAX HE DIDN'T LIKE

by Bob Walsh

Jerry Brown, AKA Moonbeam, is the governor of the formerly great state of California. He is now pimping a major increase in fuel taxes and vehicle registration fees, allegedly to fix the roads. Trouble is, it's a lie.

Yes, the roads NEED to be fixed. The problem is every time these bastards run a focused tax increase thru they figure out a way to divert the money to cultural diversity classes or snail darter habitat. They never fix the goddamn roads, and then want more and more and more money.

The current CA gas tax is 18 cents per gallon. They want to raise it to 30 cents. Diesel will go up 16 cents per gallon. Vehicle registration will go up from $25 to $175, depending on the value of the vehicle. Electric vehicles will pay an additional $100 per vehicle per year because those inconsiderate bastards don't pay a gas tax because their cars don't burn gas. (I thought the whole idea of electric cars was to save gasoline, and thereby save the planet. I guess that does not mean you get out of gas taxes.)

I would actually support this IF I thought the money would go where intended. If I remember correctly a long time ago, I think it was 20 years, a referendum was passed that REQUIRED the gas tax money to go to road maintenance and construction. The legislature managed to construct a diversion that withstood legal challenge.

The FACT of the matter is these duplicitous, rapacious bastards will separate us from every goddamn dime they can and spend it on whatever the hell they want. The way to resist is to not pass the tax, then throw the bastards out..

EDITOR'S NOTE: Way to go Bob, tell the bastards off!

If any place needs the roads fixed, it is California. Highway 99 is a disaster.
