Turns out there was a fuck-up on printing the maps for CA Proposition 50
and they have to reprint and resend almost 10 million pieces of mail
related to this issue. Not allowing for this latest error the
prospective cost is a tad over $280 million dollars. My tax dollars at
work.
Turns out the SecState is making the change with informational post cards mailed to areas that got the bum maps. The maps themselves are not bad (allegedly) but the labeling of some of the districts on the maps is wrong. That is what happens when you do fairly technical stuff in a big rush.
