Eric Bauman is an openly gay white man and is the head of the California Democratic Party. (You didn't think a STRAIGHT white man could be head of the Democrat party in California, did you?)
He is also being investigated for multiple instances of sexual misconduct against party staff members. He has not denied the charges, though he has said that he is sorry if his conduct made anybody feel uncomfortable. He also said he is looking forward to putting the allegations behind him and moving the organization forward.
Daraka Larimore-Hall, a vice-chairman of the party, sent out a letter last week to the party leadership calling for Bauman's removal.
So, will they protect him or throw him under the bus? My guess is they will wait for the report from the outside counsel that is investigating and will then try to bury it. If they can't bury it, they will bury him. But that's just my opinion, for what that is worth.

This is a tough one for the left. On one hand, he's a progressive LGBT crusader. Someone to be revered and protected.
On the other hand he's an old (well, ageing anyway) white guy. Someone to be vilified and chastised.
Like I said...it's a tough one.
