FIRE TOLL RISES TO 83

The Camp Fire in Butte County, CA. has now know to have killed 83 people. There are 536 still missing, and that number keeps bouncing around as "new" reports are found and old duplicates are cleared and people call in to say "I'm ALIVE."

As I write this it is raining up there, which is good for the fire fighters but problematic for searching for remains and really problematic as it could lead to mud slide or debris flows, depending on how hard the rain hits.

I am often glad to be an urbanite.
