BEING TRANS IN TEXAS MIGHT NOT BE A LOT OF LAUGHS

by Bob Walsh

Muhlaysia Booker is, or more properly was, a transgender female in the Dallas area. On April 12 she was involved in a minor traffic accident (her fault). The other driver allegedly pulled a pistol and refused to let her leave until she paid for the damages. (Never heard of insurance I guess.) A crowd gathered and at some point a bystander offered another bystander $200 to beat up Ms. Booker, which did in fact happen. (I fail to see the point there, unless somebody really hates mediocre drivers.) She suffered a concussion from having her head stomped on. She also suffered a broken wrist. The thumping was recorded and broadcast on social media, apparently for entertainment purposes for the assholes watching.

Edward Thomas, 29, was arrested in connection with the beating.

Early Saturday Ms. Booker, 29, was found face-down in the street. She appeared to have been shot to death. The cops are unwilling to speculate on a connection between the two incidents.

There are mean people everywhere. Dallas seems to draw them like a magnet.
