The formerly great state of California has filed yet another lawsuit against the Trump administration, this one over funding of the pseudo-High-Speed Rail project. (The CA. A.G. brags about how many lawsuits he has filed against Trump. This is #58 I think.)
The state filed to get the $1 billion that was pulled due to the state manifestly failing to reach the performance goals of the project, WHICH WERE WRITTEN INTO THE BALLOT INITIATIVE THAT CREATED THE PROJECT IN THE FIRST PLACE. They have also filed for a TRO to keep the feds from spending the money elsewhere until the matter is settled.
Newsom claims that he has not abandoned the stated goal to connect SF and LA, but he is a lying sack of shit. He said the opposite six weeks ago.
Governor Newsom is claiming that the FRA pulling the funding is payback for the state opposing the border wall.
