The formerly great state of California has extended their rental agreement on the pop-up hospital at the Sleep Train Arena near Sacramento, owned by the Sacramento Kings basketball franchise.
The current rental agreement calls for $500,000 per month rent for three months, plus approx. $500,000 per month for utilities, maintenance and security. The extension will be at zero dollars per month for four months, though presumably the state is still paying for utilities, maintenance and security.
The hospital facility is, right now, severely underutilized. I guess the governor is hoping for more sick people, or at least planning for it.
