That
evil giant Amazon has just picked up a $200 million piece of property
in the People's Republic of San Francisco in order to enlarge their
presence there. The six acre spot used to be a dump (literally) in an
industrial area, at 900 7th St. Some of the wackadoodles are screaming
that 1,000 units of low-cost housing could be built on the site, which
may even be true if anybody actually wanted to do that who also had the
money to do it.
The
facility being proposed is what is called a "delivery station."
Current plans would be a three story, 500,0000 sq foot facility which is
within the current zoning limits. A "delivery station" is the last
station in the line before packages are actually delivered to the final
consumer.

I buy from Amazon because of the convenience. I also compare prices and find them competitive and sometimes cheaper than big box stores. Their return policies are quite liberal and because we have a huge Amazon delivery center near us, I can have the product I ordered by the next day.
