A Texas congressman is blaming a security breach for following a $1,500-an-hour New York City escort on Twitter — telling critics to “grow up” after being called out for the unseemly link.

“Grow up people, no one on my staff, nor I, purposefully followed this account,” Crenshaw, 36, tweeted. “Thanks for flagging. Passwords changed.”

May, whose profile is set to private, bills herself as “your favorite long legged girl next door” and a “lingerie lover” and “globe trotter.”

The blond bombshell requests a “consideration” fee of $1,500 for an hour of her time — or $10,000 for an entire day, according to a screenshot posted by reporter Zachary Petrizzo, who covers politics for the Daily Dot and Mediaite.

“Congressman Dan Crenshaw is currently following an escort on Twitter who charges $1,500 per hour,” Petrizzo tweeted Thursday afternoon, setting off a cascade of replies — both in defense of the congressman and criticizing him.

“Sounds like you’re alleging a serious crime, that the account of a US Congressman was hacked,” one response read.

Others also noted that following someone online doesn’t “mean anything” or show any proof of illicit behavior or paying for sex.

“I follow sex workers here, simply to gain insight into a world that I don’t know about,” another reply read. “Now if he’s HIRING her, that might be different.”

Meanwhile, a critic questioned whether Crenshaw’s wife was aware of his link to her online.

“But not only hypocrisy, but he did make a vow to his wife, so if he does use this woman’s services, I hope it’s with his wife’s knowledge and sign-off,” they tweeted.

Messages left for Crenshaw at his Texas offices in Kingwood and Houston early Friday were not immediately returned. The mailbox at his Washington office was full and unable to accept new voicemails.

Reps for Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

May, meanwhile, has benefited from the exposure, upping her Twitter followers by nearly 2,000 since Thursday. Attempts to reach her were not immediately successful.

EDITOR'S NOTE: I still think Dan would be an excellent running mate for Nikki Haley in 2024.

I once arrested a professional prostitute and stripper for lewdness on a complaint. She worked at a high end strip club. She was a 10 on a scale of 1 to 5. She was pleasant and took the bust in stride only asking if one of the Agents would drive her new Cadillac downtown and park it near the jail in a paid monitored lot. We complied. During the drive downtown she said she had about 10 years of the life before she got out. She averaged $600 a night cash for a 4 hour shift. This was in 1982. She lived well and owed no one. She even admitted to having several well healed clients and an off duty officer who provided her with security when needed. She must have been well thought of at the courthouse because the case was removed from the docket. I enjoyed talking with her and I hope she accomplished her goal of getting rich and getting out.

Personally I think they should legalize prostitution. NOT street-walking, that attracts trouble. Out call or in house operations don't mess up the streets and allow for health exams and tax collection plus tend to keep the under aged out of the business (to some extent).
