Thursday a solo Modesto P D officer had occasion to interact with a
skeezy looking but rather large white boy over suspected auto
burglaries. The interaction went sideways and the cop and the suspect
ended up rolling around on the ground. The bad guy was trying, with
some success, to access the cops pistol. The cop yelled out for
assistance at a young Hispanic woman who happened to be walking by. She
jumped in to help the cop, followed almost immediately by three or so
fairly good-size men. They helped the cop gain control of the
situation. The suspect looked like he had been dragged thru a four
strand barbed-wire fence when it was all over.
Middle America does not hate cops. Quite the reverse in fact.
