Daniel
(Duke) Trujillo died at the age of 33 a couple of days ago from
Covid-19 complications. He was a Sheriff's Deputy in Colorado so one
would tend to believe he was a reasonably bright and reasonably grounded
guy.
I admit to mixed
feelings about anti-vaxxers. The ones who say that Covid-19 doesn't
exist and / or it is part of some giant government conspiracy to force
people to wear masks or to inject tracking devices into them are nuts.
The ones who was say they will ride with the odds and are worried about
unknown long term consequences I have a certain amount of sympathy for
as their attitude is not unreasonable. The ones who resist having their
rugrats vaccinated for the same reason are on even firmer ground as the
likelyhood of them either catching it or spreading it is minimal to
miniscule. Trujillo landed in group #2 above. He threw the dice and he
lost. It is a damn shame.
He
is the second deputy to die this month from Covid. Both have been
eligible to get vaccinated since January. Both of their deaths are
considered line-of-duty.
