Most
readers will remember Scott Peterson. He murdered his pregnant wife
just before Christmas some years back. Her body turned up while he was
being prosecuted. He got the death penalty. A judge has overturned the
death penalty due to faulty jury instructions.
Stanislaus County has just elected to NOT continue to pursue the death penalty.
He
may also get a total new trial due to jury misconduct. That has yet to
be determined. What he should get is an anchor chained around his legs
and a dip in the bay, but that will probably not happen. Life is
unfair at times.
