Woman who hit cops with car during NYC protests arrested
A 26-year-old woman was busted Thursday for speeding through a line of cops in Brooklyn during a chaotic protest last year, cops said.
Samantha Botte was arrested and charged with assault, attempted assault, reckless endangerment, obstruction, unlawful fleeing and reckless driving, according to authorities.
Botte, in her 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis with the license plate
“ANUTHA1,” allegedly sped away from cops at Smith Street and Atlantic
Avenue on Oct. 27, 2020 during demonstrations over the Philadelphia
police shooting death of Walter Wallace Jr.
“I’m trying to go home!” video from the time captured her yelling at cops before slamming the car door and driving off.
Cops can be seen in the video trying to smash the sedan’s windows to stop the driver.
Police say two cops were hit by the car and suffered minor injuries.
'Fuck the Police' and 'Black Lives Matter' stickers on the back window of Botte's car
Photos of Botte’s car show a pair of stickers on the back window, one saying “fuck the police” and the other “Black Lives Matter.”
