Some years ago the teeming metropolis of Everett,
Washington, had what they believed to be a problem with scantily clad
bikini-baristas. The city has just agreed to pay $500,000 to the owner
and six employees of the establishment. The city also agreed that they
will no longer require that baristas wear at a minimum a tank-top and
shorts.
Going all the way
back to 2009 the city asserts that some of the outlets were allowing
customers to play a little grab-ass with the baristas and that some were
running basically a live peep show. In 2013 two owners were arrested
for solicitation and promoting prostitution. The owners were convicted
and a Sonomish County Deputy Sgt. was sacked for giving the owners a
heads-up on upcoming undercover investigation.
The
owner of Hillbillie Hotties and several employees sued when the dress
code was enforced by the city. Back in October the U. S. District Court
found the dress code unconstitutional. The city has spent almost
$400,000 in legal fees, so they settled up.

Several years ago, one of these places opened up in League City. One Old Lady wrote the Daily News about it. The new wore off in a couple of months and I heard the coffee wasn't that good. No arrests. No lawsuits. It just closed for lack of business. Even the cops didn't go by. They drink free coffee at the Stop N Rob.
