The aftermath of the Ida Ann Lorenzo (pictured) altercation was caught on camera
Regular readers will remember that some weeks ago I wrote
about an encounter between a female civil servant and a young adult
woman in a steak house in Utah. The adult woman was offended that the
young women was showing a lot of skin and decided it was her duty to
correct the matter. She walked up to the young woman, upbraided her on
her attire, and grabbed and pulled down her skirt in an effort to
effectively lengthen it. She also threatened to call CPS in the
mistaken belief that the young woman was a juvenile.
The
arrogant stupid person, Ida Ann Lorenzo, 48, in fact ended up on the
wrong end of the situation. She was charged with sexual battery against
the mini-skirt wearer.
As
it turns out Ms. Lorenzo was a fairly newly hired, and therefore
probationary, legal secretary working for the Utah A.G.s office.
On
April 25, the day after the incident, Ms. Lorenzo was fired (rejected
on probation technically) by the A.G.s office. Probationary employees
are much easier to fire than permanent civil service workers. They have
very little protection and one good incident of arrogant and stupid
will usually do the job. It certainly did for Ms. Lorenzo.

Yep, the old probationary employee rule. All bets are off because most new hires sign off on the probationary period and waive any rights to counter disciplinary action. (USA)
