If the news is to be believed the citizens of Cleveland,
Texas are living in fear of feral dogs roaming around their streets
attacking animals and pets with impunity.
There
is unfortunately no formalized animal control operation in Liberty
County. The dogs often roam in packs attacking pretty much at will.
The S. O. has suggested that residents just shoot threatening dogs.
Seems reasonable to me. Dogs can be mean, but they are not bullet
proof. I can't imagine there are so many that two or three honest
citizens who just happened to be taking a walk while armed could not
handle whatever came at them and that after two or three such encounters
the problem should be greatly reduced.
EDITOR'S NOTE: At least one person did shoot at the dogs but missed.
