President-elect Donald Trump revealed Monday evening that intensive diplomatic efforts are underway to secure the release of the remaining hostages in Gaza, speaking at a press conference in Florida.
Discussing his Sunday briefing with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump described the conversation as productive. "We discussed what is going to happen. I'll be very available on January 20th, and we'll see. As you know I gave warning that if these hostages aren't back home by that date, all hell is going to break out," he said.
Responding to questions about potential military action against Iran or support for an Israeli strike, Trump remained cryptic: "How could I tell you a thing like that now. You don't talk about [something] before it may or may not happen."
Trump also discussed broader international issues, noting his ongoing efforts regarding both the hostage situation and the war in Ukraine. He indicated that since the election, he has been working on resolving global conflicts.
