The Biden administration just announced that they are
kicking down $225 million to Bosch to open a semi-conductor production
facility in Roseville, CA.  Assuming it does not turn into another
Solyndra this facility will produce 40% of the silicone carbide chips in
 this country.
The
public-private partnership being pimped by Senile Joe could eventually
kick down $1.9 billion to Bosch according to today's Sacramento PRAVDA
(known sometimes as the Bee).
This
move is expected to bring in 1,000 construction jobs and 700 permanent
manufacturing jobs for this facility alone.  It is hoped to be
operational by 2026, though I would not bet on that.  There is still a
huge BIG BUSINESS IS EVIL, MANUFACTURING IS EVIL power base in CA that
can piss in the soup for years if needs be.
I
do think that it is imperative that we start making critical
manufactured goods in this country again.  Doing it with an American
subsidiary of a foreign company may or may not be the way to go, and I
am still bothered by the government picking winners and losers.  That
being said, we will no doubt see what shakes out.
