MTG is ready to shoot down drones with a .50 caliber rifle
Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is threatening to shoot down drones herself amid a flood of mystery sightings.
In an X post Monday night, the Georgia lawmaker said she would not cower in fear.
'I'm going to tell you right now that if they try to tell us all to stay inside, stay home, shelter in place "FOR OUR SAFETY" from the drones, there is no way in hell I will comply with that absolute bulls***,' she wrote. 'Not doing it. No way.'
'I’ll shoot the drones down myself along with every other red blooded freedom loving American,' she proclaimed.
She had previously suggested that the government has been behind the mysterious drone sightings over New Jersey, New York and Maryland.
Online users were quick to point out that it's illegal to shoot down drones and the FBI is warning against doing just that.
A drone expert, Rick Smith, founder and CEO of Axon, told CNN for a story Monday that shooting a drone could potentially make the situation more dangerous.
Shooting down the aircraft could 'turn it into a missile,' Smith said.

A number of federal officials have also said that some airplanes have been mistaken for drones - another reason not to point a gun at them.
'We assess that the sightings to date include a combination of lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones, and law enforcement drones, as well as manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and even stars that were mistakenly reported as drones,' National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby told reporters Monday.
'We have not identified anything anomalous or any national security or public safety risk over the civilian airspace In New Jersey, or other states in the Northeast. The work continues.'
'But I want to stress again, our assessment at this stage is that the activity represents commercial, hobbyist law enforcement drones, all operating legally and lawful and or civilian aviation aircraft,' he underlined.
He cited federal 'resources and personnel' as supporting the efforts, including additional 'advanced detection technology' and trained observers.
Greene is among those who believe there's a conspiracy afoot.
MTG previously said she thought the drones were being controlled in a conspiracy by the federal government
She said last week 'the government is in control of the drones and refuses to tell the American people what is going on.'
President-elect Donald Trump made a similar assertion when asked about the drone drama during his free-wheeling Mar-a-Lago press conference Monday.
'For some reason they don't want to comment. And I think they'd be better off saying. Our military knows, and our president knows... and for some reason [they] want to keep people in suspense.'
He added: 'I can't imagine it's the enemy, because if it was the enemy they'd blast them down. Even if they were late. Something strange is going on. For some reason they don't want to tell the people, and they should, because the people are really...'
The president-elect went on: 'I mean, they happen to be over Bedminster.'
Trump said he nixed an upcoming trip to his New Jersey golf club due to the drone sightings.
'They're very close to business. I think maybe I won't spend the weekend in Bedminster. I decided to cancel my trip,' he said.
Trump declined to say whether he was receiving intelligence briefings on the matter.

Seems a little overkill, especially at about $10 per shot.
