The election five weeks ago produced the following statistics.
A total of 16,140,044 ballots were counted. A total of 13,034,378 of those were submitted via mail.
There was a turnout of 71% of the total registered voters, some of who are actual citizens.
EDITOR'S NOTE: This doesn't compute. If I read it right, only thee million California voters cast their ballots in person. That just doesn't seem plausible.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Never the less the Sacramento BEE and KCRA television insist those are the correct stats from the Sec State's office. Now they COULD BE including "drop off" ballots with "mail in" ballots, as opposed to voting in person and filling out the ballot at a polling place. Since CA now mails as ballot to everybody with a pulse (and many people without one) who ever walked by a registrar's office it is possible.
