Dr. Va Lecia Adams Kellum, the new CEO of LAHSA, speaks at City Hall. Behind her are (l to r) LAHSA Board Chair Wendy Greuel, Union Rescue Mission CEO and LAHSA board member Rev. Andy Bales, Mayor Karen Bass and County Supervisor Janice Hahn
Other People's Money. Monopoly money. Its not real.
So nobody cares of it is missing. Right now about $219 million is
known to be unaccounted for from the Los Angeles Homless Services
Agency. It is run by VaLecia Adams Kellum, a close friend of Mayor
Bass, the Communist mayor of L.A. Bass appointed her friend to the
gig. It pays over $500,000 per year. A board of ten, also appointed,
theoretically oversees the agency and keeps and eye on funds, a lot of
which come from HUD (which is why the feds are looking at it). The feds
are trying to run down as much as $500 million which may be unaccounted
for.
Except for a federal
judge it seems that nobody cares. These clowns are pouring money down
the toilet and losing track of tons and tons of it, and nobody cares,
because it is OPM. The problem with finding the money is that nobody
has been keeping records of how much money is going where. Nobody
knows. Nobody cares. Except for that angry federal judge. His name is
David O. Carter and he is mightily pissed off. Maybe, just maybe, a
federal judge has enough juice to get the job done, or at least nail
some hides to the wall when deserved.
Just don't hold your breath on it being done. After all, it is only OPM.
