The press and various non-Democrat members of the CA
legislature have been trying to find out literally for a couple of years
any information whatsoever about the new capitol annex building.
Pretty much everything is on the QT. Pretty much everybody involved has
signed an NDA, including several members of the legislature. They
search workman on their way in to make sure they are not carrying
cameraphones. Even the governor, who appointed one of the three people
on the oversight group, denies any knowledge of the cost, scheduling or
pretty much ANYTHING about the project.
The
yelling about "coverup" and "scandal" has been ignored until today.
Once people started yelling for the feds to investigate the project for
fraud (why would they be trying so hard to hide ALL information if they
were not stealing like big dogs) the committee (no Republican members)
has finally agreed to release some information before the end of the
year.
How forthcoming they
will be and how accurate the info will actually be has yet to be
determined. I will try to keep you in the loop.
