FCI Terminal Island The federal prison at Terminal Island, Los Angeles, will
be closing down very soon. The facility has been there since 1938 and
is suffering from general decreptitude and is literally falling apart.
Also
the federal correctional facility at Dublin, CA. will be closing down,
at least temporarily. It was for a while a co-ed prison but shifted to
women only. There has been a years-long investigation into the sexual
abuse of prisoners. Eight people including one former warden were
prosecuted. Five copped please and two have been found guilty. The
facility is not that old and may be reopened at some later time. (Maybe
immigration will grab it.)
