WEBSTER, TEXAS – A safety director at a Webster church is accused of impersonating a federal immigration agent and extorting a Houston massage therapist, according to reporting from ABC13 in Houston.

Investigators say 58-year-old Donald Doolittle, listed as safety director on the Gateway Community Church of Webster’s website, booked a massage Thursday and allegedly presented an ID labeled “ICE” when it came time to pay. The victim reportedly told police that after showing her visa paperwork, Doolittle demanded she send him $500 through Zelle or he would have her detained and separated from her family.

ABC13 reports that after the transfer was made, Doolittle texted the victim claiming he had marked her case for “non-prosecution” and urged her to delete evidence of their communication.

Police say Doolittle initially denied ever visiting the massage business, but investigators claim surveillance footage contradicted his statement. The victim later told officers after running into them the next day at a luncheon.

Doolittle is charged with impersonating a public servant. His bond was set at $10,000. Gateway Community Church has not responded to a request for comment.

Church security getting a rub and tug? I attended church last week and the Uniformed Cop stood at the entrance. He observed and spoke to almost everyone entering the building. He did his job well.
