The casualty count has bumped up to 12 wounded and four
death. The dead are ages 9, 11, 14, and 21. No names have yet been
released. The cops are still not releasing info suspect info, assuming
they know any. This is described as not a random shooting so they
presumably have some idea of the general affiliation of the shooter(s)
if not the specific identity.
The incident has made the national news.
The usual political hand-wringing is going on.
No
more screaming about gun control. Yet. It is coming without a doubt.
Also no screaming about individual responsibility or gang culture.
That is maybe not coming so much.
The
cops are now talking shooter rather than shooters, but the original
calls and some news interviews were witnesses are asserting a high rate
of overlapping fire. Nobody is saying anything about any return fire
from the venue so that tends to indicate more than one shooter.
