NEWSOM'S FORMER CHIEF OF STAFF ARRESTED BY THE FBI

By Bob Walsh

Dana Williamson, former top aide to Gov. Gavin Newsom, leaving the courthouse after being indicted.
Calif. Gov. Gavin Newsom’s former chief of staff Dana Williamson was arrested Wednesday and charged with plotting with accomplices to swipe $225,000 from inactive political campaigns and funnel it straight into a friend’s pocket.

Dana Williamson, who was the Chief of Staff to Gavin Newsom until about ten months ago, and two of her road dogs, were arrested today for public corruption.  A total of 23 counts.  She had previously worked for Xavier Becerra, formerly the California Attorney General.

It is not clear that the governor nor anybody currently associated with the governor had any involvement with whatever is going on here.  Of course it isn't clear that they didn't either, but if they did I expect the news stories would have led with that.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Newsom and Becerra were not in any way involved. She stole inactive political campaign funds.
