CORBIN, Ky. -- Police accused a southern Kentucky woman of setting her husband on fire after catching him with another woman.
The Laurel County Sheriff's Office arrested Vera Wooten, 40, Monday night.
Investigators say they were notified of a domestic violence complaint on Woodland Drive. That's where they say Wooten poured gasoline on her husband and set him on fire.
According to her arrest citation, Wooten saw her husband in a car with another woman. The report goes on to say that Wooten pulled her husband out of the vehicle and began beating him. The other woman left in her car. Police say that woman looked back and noticed the man was on fire and called 911.
The sheriff's office says Wooten drove her husband to a local hospital. A medical helicopter then flew him to a hospital in Cincinnati.
Investigators say the victim has burns over 50% of his body and that the hospital listed him in critical condition.
The Laurel County Sheriff's Office charged Wooten with assault.
