Yusef Y would replace the Washington Monument with a huge statue of Malcom X and the Jefferson Memorial with a statue of Huey Newton

EXCLUSIVE – Yusef Y, a community activist and member of the New Black Panthers, told the Unconventional Gazette that all monuments of slave owners and Confederate war heroes must be destroyed and buildings, parks and streets bearing their names must be changed.

“Washington owned more than 300 slaves,” says Yusef. “The Washington Monument must be torn down. Thomas Jefferson not only owned 600 slaves, but he raped some of them. The Jefferson Memorial must be torn down.”

Yusef Y boasted about being in Durham, N.C. to urge the college students to destroy the statue of a Confederate soldier there. “I bought the ladder Miss Takiyah Thompson climbed up on, you know the lady arrested by that motherfucking cracker sheriff there.”

The community activist said, “I want to thank Trump for getting people so riled up that there are now demands all over the country to remove all Confederate statues [There are about 700 still standing], and they’re doing it. Thank you Trump, thank you.”

Yusef would replace the Washington Monument with a huge statue of Malcom X and the Jefferson Memorial with a memorial to Black Panther co-founder Huey Newton.

When asked about such a statue minimizing the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Yusef replied that Malcom X installed pride in blacks and offered them a better religious faith to follow.

Additionally Yusef wants the sculptures of the two slave-owning presidents removed from the face of Mount Rushmore. He wants Malcom X to replace Washington and Huey Newton to replace Jefferson on the Mount Rushmore National Memorial. And he says the state of Washington must be renamed.

Yusef also wants all Columbus statues destroyed and cities and streets named after him changed. “Columbus forcibly took 1,500 Indians back to Spain to be sold into slavery,” he said. “And that peckerwood killed the Indians who refused to con vert to Christianity.”

First on Yusef’s hit list is Los Angeles where on August 30 the City Council will discuss and vote on replacing Columbus Day with Indigenous Peoples Day. “I’ll be there to speak in support of that change,” said Yusef.

Next on his Columbus hit list will be Columbus, Ohio and New York. “They’ve got to change the name of that city. I don’t give a fuck what they call it as long as it’s not Columbus,” he said. “And in New York, they’ve got to change the name of Columbus Circle and destroy the statue of Columbus that now stands in it.”

When told there would be a revolt of New York’s Italians if anyone tried to mess with the statue of Columbus or the name of Columbus Circle, Yusef replied. “Fuck them motherfucking, spaghetti-bending wops!”

But Yusef Y wanted us to know that his primary objective was the destruction of the Washington Monument and the Jefferson Memorial. “Them motherfucking suckers have gotta go!”.

Not much is known about Yusef’s background. He was born and raised under his given name Leroy Washington in South L.A. by his prostitute mother. He was in-and-out of juvenile hall and became a member of the notorious Crips gang when he was about 15. At age 20, he was sentenced to 20 years for armed robbery. While at Soledad State Prison he became a Black Muslim and changed his name to Yusef Y. He was paroled after nine years and rejoined his old Crips gang. He sold dope but fooled his parole officer into believing he earned his money mowing lawns.

When Obama ran for President, Yusef learned that he had been a community organizer. That’s when he decided to become a community activist. “Instead of the fucking white man’s law making trouble for me, I set out to make trouble for the fucking white man’s law.” He joined the National Action Network and soon came to the attention of Al Sharpton, its founder. Yusef says he accompanied Sharpton to the White House at least four or five times where they were guests of the Obamas for dinner. “I guess my White House days are over with that motherfucker Trump there now,” saus Yusef.

Yusef is also an active member of Black Lives Matter and claims to have organized local chapters in Dallas and other cities. BLM has been accused of being behind the assassination of five Dallas cops on July 7, 2016. When asked if he favored the killing of police officers, he replied, “No, no, but I don’t feel sorry for them motherfucking pigs ’cause they been killing black men for no reason.”

Our interview came to an abrupt end when two cops showed up with an arrest warrant for failure to appear in court. It seems as though the community activist has ignored the. As Yusef Y was being led away in handcuffs he turned around and shouted, “Don’t forget, the Washington Monument and the Jefferson Memorial have gotta go!”
