NO CONFIDENCE VOTE IN COLUMBUS

by Bob Walsh

Columbus is the largest city in the glorious state of Ohio. The police there just voted no confidence in the current Mayor of that lovely city as well as the political leaders in general.

Mayor Andrew Ginther, City Council President Zach Kelin and Public Safety Director Ned Pettus were the specific targets of the no-confidence vote.

Spending on public safety in Columbus has gone down in the last seven years while the population has increased. On 2015 there were 106 homicides in the city. So far they have had 80 this year. The number of guns confiscated is up about 40% over last year. Fatal overdoses are up about 66%.

Why are fatal overdoses such a big deal? People doing illegal shit die and they didn't take anybody else with them. I am having a hard time loosing much sleep over that. Of course they probably are reliable Democrat voters, so that could be an issue there.

As I have stated before, Chiefs of Police have become politicians.

Actually in this the chief is more-or-less supporting his people. The elected politicians are the problem.
