Second only to his toy train is Jerry Brown's fondness for water diversion. He wants to send every drop of water he possibly can to SoCal so that they can have nice lawns and golf courses. Fuck the farmers. Fuck the people in NoCal. The VOTES are in SoCal and San Francisco (which has its own protected water supply from Hetch Hetchy).
Sacramento County just filed a lawsuit, along with a water agency in Placer County, against the diversion tunnels. Several other groups, including some cities and business organizations, have also done so. Butte County is preparing its own lawsuit in the matter.
The Sacramento suit asserts that the DWR (Dept of Water Resources) is ignoring environmental laws and the damage to agricultural land.
