DER DUMMKOPF DOES IT AGAIN

Responding to the Barcelona terrorist attack, Trump said to study what Pershing did, a story he told during his presidential campaign, which has been shown as fake

Speaking in Charleston, S.C. on February 19, 2016, here is a part of Trump’s campaign rhetoric:

“They were having terrorism problems [In the Philippines in June 1913], just like we do. He [Gen. John 'Black Jack' Pershing] caught 50 terrorists that did tremendous damage and killed many people and he took the 50 terrorists and he took 50 men and he dipped 50 bullets in pig's blood.

And he had his men load his rifles, and he lined up the 50 people, and they shot 49 of those people, and the 50th person. ‘You go back to your people and you tell them what happened.’

And for 25 years. there wasn't a problem. For 25 years there wasn't a problem. Okay? Twenty-five years, there wasn't a problem. So we better start getting tough!”

A version of that story started circulating around the internet shortly after 9/11. I’ve received it at least half-a-dozen times. There’s no truth to this story. It’s fake news!

I cannot conceive that none of Trump’s aides told him the story was false. That he would ever refer to it again stretches the imagination. And yet here is what he tweeted on Thursday:

“Study what General Pershing of the United States did to terrorists when caught. There was no more Radical Islamic Terror for 35 years!”

Oops, Trump jumped from 25 years to 55 years. It’s no big deal to embellish a fable by 10 years.

Trump has been complaining about fake news, but it seems he gets a lot of his news from fake emails that have been circulating through the internet or from unreliable websites.

That’s why I call Trump der dummkopf.

First, this was a story. It was not presented as news. I hope he doesn't mention Santa Clause. Why do you concentrate on negative stories about Trump?

Anon, apparently you don't get it. Der Dummkopf goes to South Carolina last yeat and tells a campaign audience this story as if it were factual, when in fact, it was a fake. And then again, he calls attention to the fake story on Thursday.

As for fake news, Trump has made several incorrect or false claims that he got from some unreliable conservative website.

You are so enthralled with Trump that you turn a blind eye to anything bad said about him, which he brings on himself because he can't keep his big mouth shut and has to strike back at anyone who dares to criticize him.

I held my nose as I voted for Der Dummkopf because I thought he was a jerk, but I preferred a jerk over Hillary.

I hope his next rally will be in Texas! I've still have the MAGA hat that Judge Jeanine Pirro gave me.

You're right. I just don't get it. This is news?

Now I know what's wrong. That MAGA cap is dulling your senses.
