According to my brother, who was a banker for much of his professional life, the functional definition of being broke is when you can no longer borrow enough money to cover the interest on your debt.
It was mostly missed in the middle of the other things going on but in the last week our national debt hit $20 trillion dollars. Just thought you might like to know. Or not.
