PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC GETTING RUDE ABOUT GUN THEFTS

by Bob Walsh

The Sheriff's Office of the People's Republic of San Francisco is getting downright rude with employees who violate policy and the law concerning firearms in vehicles.

An unidentified Deputy Sheriff, who has unfortunately for him been on the job less than one year, was stupid enough to leave his issue weapon unattended in his vehicle over the weekend. This is a violation of department police and is in fact illegal now in CA unless the weapon is secured in a gun vault which is secured to the vehicle in order to prevent casual theft.

The unidentified deputy is now unemployed.

A veteran SFPD officer is currently under investigation for a similar incident in which a personally owned weapon was stolen and used in several crimes, including a homicide.

In rereading this I noticed I forgot to tell you the gun was actually stolen. He wasn't sacked just for leaving it in the car (though he could have been).
