HOW TOTALLY MESSED UP IS THIS ?

by Bob Walsh

Thursday was the first day of school in large parts of Oklahoma. It didn't go well at Luther High School in the city of Luther, a burg of about 1,200 people about 25 miles outside of Oklahoma City. The school has about 800 students (which seems odd for a city of 1,200). During first-day assembly a 14-year old boy stabbed a 14-year old girl six or seven times for no obvious reason.

The girl is in the hospital and is likely to survive. The Oklahoma County S.O. has the suspect in custody. A weapon has not yet been recovered.

The school Facebook page said, "There was an incident at the High School assembly this morning at the Auditorium. The situation is under control, all students are safe."

I guess that's true if being stabbed six or seven times and being airlifted to the hospital meets the definition of safe.

If you're sending children to public schools they should be in uniforms and all public schools should be like airports. One way in and one way out. Boxing should be taught in the freshman year. Bullying should be settled in a boxing ring on campus supervised by the athletic director. Paddling should be the schools option for discipline and expulsion for certain offenses is mandatory.

My son was being bullied 20 years ago and I brought home a cage fighter from work. He learned so well, that the football coach later called him in and asked him not to use that shit on the field. Other teams were complaining.
