LOMBARD STREET TOLL PASSES FIRST LEGISLATIVE HURDLE

by Bob Walsh

The legislation to make Lombard Street in S. F. a toll road has passed its first legislative hurdle. It is hoped that the toll and the controls it brings will bring a bit of sanity to the mobs and the chaos, especially on nice summer weekends.

By the way, in case you are truly interested, Lombard St. is NOT the crookedest street in San Francisco let alone the world. Vermont St has that honor in the city, but it does not have nearly the press, nor the mobs. I guess the locals like that just fine.

Been there. Done that. I wouldn't pay a toll for the experience.
