Hundreds of people took to the streets of Haifa to march for families –one mother and one father. According to the organizers of the event, the march is an initiative by both religious and secular citizens. Several Messianic Jewish families were seen at the march as well.
The Family March was an opportunity for Israelis to express their belief in the importance of traditional family values. “We received massive support from everyone,” said one of the event organizers. “Religious, secular, new immigrants and old citizens alike all supported us. A citizen who made aliyah from Russia translated the pamphlet to Russian and distributed it among his friends, the support was tremendous.”
According to Attorney Na’ama Sela, another of the event’s organizers, Facebook closed their page calling for people to join the march. “We are being fought on all possible fronts. We have learned that Freud may have been wrong, the strongest impulse in man is not the sex drive, but the desire to silence the other,” she commented.
LGBT organizations have succeeded in imposing their gay-family agenda on the education system in Israel beginning right from kindergarten. “There is an open debate on sexuality in school and on the street, while the ordinary family disappeared from the public agenda,” Sela said. “Our organization began with a random meeting about six months ago, and we began to talk and exchange views on issues of society and morality, and gradually we realized that everyone felt that something was happening in the State of Israel and that it was not a good thing,” she explained.
