Not quite 500 known dead worldwide as of Wed. morning. Right around 20,000 known infected. Besides our major stock market dip last week (2.1 % in one day, most of which has been recovered) this is having a LOT of secondary effects. Manufacturing plants are being closed in China for lack of workers, which is cutting into further production where things are supposed to go (like car parts to Korea) to make other things. It has had some similar effects in Singapore.
This still isn't truly horrible, but many people would be a LOT happier if we knew more about the disease. The unknown is scary.
