COP SHOT RESPONDING TO SOCIAL DISTANCING BEEF

by Bob Walsh

Officer Kenny Gee and other staff from the Lexington, MISS PD responded to a social distancing complaint on Third Street on Thursday night.

The locals started throwing bricks and bottles, then one ran into a residence and pulled out a gun. He then started throwing lead. Officer Gee was shot and two police cars were damaged. Gee drove himself to the hospital with a bullet in the shoulder. He has six months with the department.

Three men are in the slammer for the shooting. One was already on release on a charge of aggravated battery on a police officer.
